Jasper Coit is 7 years old. He is extremely intelligent, rambunctious, and silly. He is quite a handful–and I’m just the writer. He and his parents are on a great adventure. They are driving from Reno, Nevada to La Paz, Mexico on a big bus. Jasper is homeschooled by his parents. He does normal stuff–like reading, writing and arithmetic. He also does not so normal stuff–video blogs, school website, Thursday field trips, and more!

Jasper has a normal school day but since his teachers are also his parents, and his parents are around him all day long, he is quizzed all throughout the day about spelling words and math concepts. One favorite game that is played while preparing dinner, folding clothes, or driving long hours is the Rhyming Game. Someone says a word or a phrase, and then everyone else in the family has to create a rhyming poem using the word and words that rhyme.

 Like this:

SAILBOAT RACE

I would like to watch a sailboat race

Even if it’s at a snail’s pace

Afterwards, we can have dinner at my place.

They seem to enjoy this game a lot, so maybe you and your family or classmates would, too.

I’m Bobby Froop, reporting the Adventures of Jasper Coit via the web. Stay tuned!
