Some of you have noticed that Jasper is wearing a medical bracelet in his videos. He has Type 1 Diabetes. We are going to post information about Diabetes here, in an effort to help other diabetics out, educate non-diabetics, and to show you just how adventurous Jasper’s life is.

We just figured out something that determines if Jasper is low, high or perfect on blood sugar:
I ask him what 4 + 5 is.
Low response: Umm… 3?
High response: I don’t want to do math right now! Stop asking me questions!!!
Perfect: 9!

It’s funny; I don’t even have to change the math question. Works every time! It certainly helps to have an idea of where he’s at BEFORE he pulls out the lancets and monitor. Many a test strip has been dropped on the floor because he was too low or high to deal with it.
